Pastor Profile

Pastor Gbenga Olubunmi Olayiwole was born after a long wait on the Lord by his mother who was then childless. One could say his birth was samuelic in nature and circumstance.

For, while his mother was carrying his pregnancy, it was prophesied that the child to be born would become a man of God and the name “Oluwabunmi” which translates “God has blessed me with this gift” was given.

Pastor Gbenga has a Bsc degree in Theology and a post graduate qualification in Counselling from Christ The Redeemer Bible College London, United Kingdom. He also holds a degree in Bsc Industrial Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. Upon the completion of his first degree, he went into business afterwards and he was successful.

Therefore, for a man of his age, time and status at the time, the prophesied calling of God on his life was like a wishful thinking – a far cry. However, when his business went sore and man repeatedly disappointed him, God fully got his attention. He became a devout Christian and started serving as a minister in many churches in Nigeria and was already a pastor before he relocated to London in 2004 to study Theology. For a few years during his degree, he served as an assistant Pastor at RCCG Open Heavens in Hatfield, under the stewardship of Pastor Daniel Akhazemea, before he graduated.

Since receiving the divine mandate to start Believers Fellowship and Prayer Ministry, Pastor Gbenga continues to minister full time in: the preaching and teaching of The Word pf God; leading fervent prayers and mentoring passionate believers to maximize their God-given gifts for the things of the kingdom.

He also supports the lost to find their way back to The Lord Jesus Christ. By The Grace of God, he also ministers as The Pastor in Charge of the Fellowship at The Nigerian High Commission, London.

Chuch History

Believers Fellowship and Prayer Ministry (BFPM) is a God ordanied prayer ministry. “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 1:37 NKJV is the Holy Spirit inspired core bible verse that the foundation of the minisitry is established upon. The Lord has given the ministry a prayer mandate; indeed, to the Glory of God; The King of Kings has been making the impossible possible through fervent prayers. The undiluted Word of God is preached and constant praises and worship are offered to God.

The ministry started as a fellowship of a few people from different backgrounds of faith and different denominations of Christianity. Initially, they came together to socialise, but as this relationship developed people started opening up to discuss their personal challenges with Pastor Gbenga Olayiwole. Through the leading of The Holy Spirit, Pastor Gbenga started organising intercessory prayers for those facing these challenges. God was miraculously answering their prayers and these intercessory prayers developed into an evening fellowship in a flat at Grahame Park, Colindale, London. The atmosphere of the fellowship was built on love and total reliance on the power of God to work wonders through steadfast prayer. When it was the divine time for the gathering to move to the next level, The Holy Spirit spoke to Pastor Gbenga to move the then fellowship out of the room. The Lord spoke to him, saying, “…do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand…” so that “…it gives light to all who are in the house.” (Matthew 5 verses 14 to 16). The ministry’s name was inspired by Acts 2 verses 42 to 47 where the early church also started as a gathering of believers from various backgrounds with a common goal.

To confirm the instructive word of God to enlarge, God divinely brought and used a family to facilitate the move to the community. Ever since the faithfulness of God to the ministry has not failed – words are not enough to describe His mercies and wonders over His church. In February 2017, The Lord brought His church to her current premises, and The Power of God continues to reign in her. Also, to the Glory of God, BFPM prayer mountain (I shall receive mercy) in Sapati, Aja, Lagos State, Nigeria has been birthed and The Lord continues to work awesome wonders.
